Brian Mears[1] is a longtime member of The Weather Channel fandom based out of Hoover, Alabama[3], best known for classic footage of The Weather Channel. He is also known by his YouTube username ILoveOldTWC and his TWC Today username, Lightning, and was previously known as ILoveStorms on YouTube.
History
Mears joined what was at the time the TWC Classics forums on October 8, 2006.[3] He created his original YouTube account the next year, on May 7, 2007.[4] The original account was terminated in August 2017, due to what Mears believed was a bogus claim submitted by a malicious user.[5] He would later revive his YouTube presence on January 20, 2019, under the same name.[1][5] Mears changed the name of his YouTube channel to ILoveOldTWC around March or early April 2024 to reflect the primarily TWC-related footage on the channel and to clear up potential confusion with storm chaser channels.[6]
