The headquarters of The Weather Channel television network are located at 300 Interstate North Parkway SE, Atlanta, Georgia. The network has been based out of its current space since 1996. The network was previously part of Pennant Park, an 11-building office complex, after the network sold the building to Rubenstein Partners in 2017. The building was sold by Rubenstein Partners to Allen Media Group, the parent company of The Weather Channel, in 2020. Despite the change in ownership, the building was still officially branded as 300 Pennant Park as of 2024.
History
Pre-1996 developments
Prior to March 1, 1982, when The Weather Channel's operations began at 2840 Mt. Wilkinson Parkway, the channel was housed in a temporary office space that, according to Peter DiAngelo, was located around a quarter mile away from the later location.[1] This location and the later Mt. Wilkinson Parkway facility were located around less than 10 minutes away from the network's current location. No other details are known about the exact location of this space. This first office space featured folding chairs and tables, one terminal, a facsimile machine, and a laser printer. This was in addition to a basic "makeshift" television studio featuring a key wall, a camera and tripod, and a desk DiAngelo described as being "like something from the clearance section at Home Depot." The sign seen on the front window of the office space was a piece of cardboard.[1] This space remained the operation center for the channel while the channel's future headquarters facility was being built.[1]
March 1, 1982, marked the official beginning of operations of The Weather Channel at its new facility at 2840 Mt. Wilkinson Parkway.[1]
300 Interstate North Parkway (1996-present)
The building at 300 Interstate North Parkway that would later house The Weather Channel was completed in 1968.[2] In January 1996, talks among executives of The Weather Channel began with a goal of finding a new building to house the network, which resulted in the space at 300 Interstate North Parkway being chosen as the best option, as it met a requirement of 18-foot ceilings accommodating lighting and other equipment.[3] An $11.2 million deal to acquire the building would be closed in May 1996, and on October 15 of the same year, Landmark Communications officially purchased the building for The Weather Channel. Prior to the network's move into the new building, changes would be made to bring the facility up to code. The network would move into the space at the end of 1996 and began broadcasting from the new studios in early 1997.[4]
The space would be purchased by Rubenstein Partners, owners of the adjacent office complex, Pennant Park, in 2017. The common spaces within the building were renovated sometime shortly after the acquisition.[5] Rubenstein Partners sold the building to Allen Media Studios, LLC in 2020, returning ownership to The Weather Channel's parent company.[6] In April 2025, the remainder of Pennant Park was purchased by Atlanta Braves Holdings, Inc., the parent company of the Atlanta Braves baseball team, for $93 million.[7]

Amenities
Dining
The building had its own cafeteria on the lobby floor, which was weather-themed in line with the network and named The Front Café. Around the time of the Rubenstein Partners purchase and the subsequent renovation of common spaces in the building, the cafeteria was removed.[12] Partially in its place, the new owners established a new dining option, Café 755[13], which remains to this day.
