The Front Panel, also known simply as The Front, was a survey panel website run by The Weather Channel for product and viewer feedback purposes between circa 2013 and 2016.

History

The Front Panel appears to have been utilized beginning in mid-to-late 2013, with The Weather Channel distributed a survey to determine the kind of music featured on its Local on the 8s segments sometime in early to mid May 2014. In August 2014, following a survey promising a gift for participation, survey participants received a photo of Jim Cantore with a copied signature and a notecard with a message from then-CEO of The Weather Company, David Kenny, thanking participants for loyalty to the network.

The last survey released through The Front Panel was a survey regarding newly-added video segments to news programming which ran from May 26-31, 2016. An archived version of the page from early July 2016 shows a "service unavailable" message, indicating that the service closed most likely in or around June 2016.
